Adult care

The Borsóház International Rehabilitation Institute also accepts affected children who are growing up, as well as adults who have suffered an adult trauma such as an accident or stroke, or have a disabling condition such as multiple sclerosis.

Care can be provided on an outpatient basis or as a full 24-hour service.

Stroke rehabilitation

In Hungary, around 45-50 thousand people have a stroke every year. A stroke is a sudden cerebral event caused by a circulatory disorder that cuts off the blood supply to part of the brain. When the symptoms appear, the patient should be taken to hospital immediately, so that in many cases the damage and paralysis can be reversed if treatment is started within 4-5 hours.

From the stroke perspective, the main goal of the rehabilitation process is to restore the patient's previous functions and to enable the patient to adapt to the changed living conditions caused by the stroke, while at the same time gaining as much independence as possible in his/her daily functional activities. The re-learning of different functions such as walking, dressing and eating is an important part of the rehabilitation process.

So the most important goal is to improve quality of life.

In our institution, patients who have suffered a stroke, trauma or are diagnosed with various neurological diseases are offered a complex therapy programme, individually tailored to their needs, following a therapeutic consultation.
